Happy New Year to everyone! Our staff members would like to express our deepest gratitude for your patronage of the past year.

On a tragic note, in March 2011, we were witness to the terrible earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster that rocked Japan. Our hearts go out to the victims for their deep and inconsolable losses.
The aftershocks of this unprecedented catastrophe transcended geographic boundaries and made themselves strongly felt in the marketplace. Due to the effects of post-earthquake import regulations on items from Japan, America's lingering recession and the European financial crisis, the yen is now at its strongest ever. This has resulted in widespread price increases for all Japanese-made products, forcing us to face a time of formidable financial challenges.

And yet it is exactly because of this very uncertain period in which we find ourselves, that all of us here at Marukai are making the pledge: "Always on the look-out for the most trustworthy pricing." We will fulfill this pledge by finding new and innovative ways to continue to bring you the reasonably priced products that you have come to rely on and expect from us.

We offer our thoughts and prayers that 2012 will be a year of rebuilding and a year of hope for Japan, for the economy of the United States, and for the peace and well-being of all of us in this very large, but also, lest we forget, very small world.

Once again, thank you for your continuing loyal patronage.

新年明けましておめでとうございます！
旧年中は一方ならぬご愛顧を頂き、私どもマルカイ社員一同、良き新年を迎える事が出来ましたこと厚く御礼申し上げます。

昨年３月の東日本大震災、津波、原発事故の大災害により、被災されました多くの方々に心よりお見舞い申し上げます。私どものビジネスにおきましても震災後の輸入規制、アメリカ経済の不況低迷、ヨーロッパ金融危機等の影響により、今までにない超円高を受け日本製品の輸入原価が大幅に値上がりし、大変困難な時代を迎えております。

しかしながら私達マルカイ社員一同は、このような不透明な時代だからこそ、今までの常識にとらわれない工夫を重ね、『信頼価格の追求』をモットーに会員の皆様に今まで通り喜んでいただける商品を廉価でご提供出来るよう、一層努力精進して参りますので、どうぞ本年も変わらぬご愛顧ご支援の程お願い申し上げます。

また今年こそは、日本の災害復興が一日も早く進み、アメリカの景気も回復し、皆様方が安心して一層幸せな生活が取り戻せる素晴らしい年になりますよう、心よりお祈り申し上げます。
